Elon Musk wants to use data from China to power the self-driving system. Some people who know about the work say that Elon Musk’s plan is “strategic.” Two workers who are familiar with the project say that Tesla wants to build a data center in China to train the algorithm to make more fully autonomous cars.

At first, Tesla was going to get permission from Chinese authorities for a data transfer. But it’s not clear if Tesla will be interested in both a data transfer and a data center. The United States has been trying to stop the transfer of AI technology from the United States to China, but they are moving to use data for AI.

A full version of a full self-driving system costs around $9,000, and Tesla would make more money if there were a bigger market for FSD in China. They would have to work with a Chinese partner if they chose to open a center in China.

It is said that Tesla and Nvidia were talking about how they could work together to get GPUs for the Chinese data center.

Last month, Musk and Premier Li Qiang got together in Beijing to talk about their plans for Tesla. They talked about a data move and the idea that Tesla might buy a data center. They also talked about Tesla renting their systems to Chinese automakers so that the two companies could work together on business projects.
