Gen Z workers have been getting a lot of attention lately because they are changing how they look for work. For example, many of them are starting to work for themselves instead of a company.

In Gen Z, 70% of people either already work as freelancers or plan to do so in the future. One thousand or more people from all over the world filled out this year’s Fiverr poll.

If you want to work for yourself instead of a company, you called freelance. One thousand Gen Zers were surveyed by Upwork, and more than half of them say they work full-time on freelance jobs.

According to Fiverr, the main reasons people choose to freelance are that it makes them money, lets them work from anywhere, lets them run their own business, and can even help them retire early.

Author and music producer Kate Brunotts, who lives in New York, said, “I think a lot of people my age or graduating are coming into a world where it feels like there’s more uncertainty than ever after the pandemic.”

Sophie Reigel, who is 23 years old and has a degree in psychology from Duke University, has been making around $60,000 a year by selling used clothes online. She has also been teaching people one-on-one and giving speeches for money.

“I never thought about applying for a job,” she said.I had no idea what that thought was about. “I don’t even have a resume.”

Harlan Rappaport, a twenty-five-year-old from New York, said that he chose to be a freelancer because it gave him more freedom. He said, “I’ve come to really appreciate the value of my time and having control over it.”

“People are kind of starting to question the status quo of going to work five days a week for eight hours a day,” he said. Generation Z is making sure they have enough money by taking on this type of work situation. One example is Rappaport, who worked as a freelancer and made $15,000 in just one month.
