Tinder is a social networking site that lets you have fun, meet new people, and even buy things right from the site.

A lot of people are interested in and using TikTok’s shopping feature, which is why brands are putting their goods on the social media site. Because of this, a study found that TikTok has also been selling vaping goods to teens. The study found that vaping products are sometimes advertised and sold on the site.

A public health professor at the University of Arkansas named Page Dobbs spoke out against vaping goods and told parents to watch out for this kind of behavior online.

“Parents should know that e-cigarette products may be getting sent to their kids in the mail.” “These businesses that call themselves small are trying to get young people to come in by saying they don’t check IDs,” she said.

Vaping is illegal for teens and young adults, but about five million middle school and high school kids said they used e-cigarettes last year.

On TikTok, people were advertising vaping products with a wide range of hashtags linked to vaping or e-cigarettes. They also discovered that some sellers who were trying to sell to teenagers were hiding vaping goods by bundling them with things like lip gloss or candy.

Dobbs warned, “If your child gets a package of candy or beauty products in the mail, check inside the box or the zippered scrunchie.”

Almost half of the videos that were shared about selling paid products didn’t ask for proof of age or say that you had to be a certain age to buy them.

Dobbs said, “Policymakers and law enforcement should know that these products are being shipped internationally, which means that people are breaking tobacco laws in more than one country.”
