Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg met with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol to talk about how to improve AI and how to work together.

Mark Zuckerberg has been pushing for AI progress lately, and he just got back from meeting with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol to talk about ways that the US and South Korea could work together on “AI and digital ecosystems.” Zuckerberg wants to talk to government leaders all over the world about AI and working together on technology. This is just one of the places he plans to visit.

It looked like President Yoon was excited to work with Meta. He said that Meta’s technology would be great in smart homes, cars, and home products. He also talked about how excited he was about the chance to work on XR (extended reality) glasses and the Metaverse. Also, Yoon pushed Meta to do more to fight false information about elections on their website.

The President’s policy chief, Sung-Tae Yoon, said, “They talked about the vision for making open AI and digital ecosystems and how to make it easier for Meta and our companies to work together.” The president said that the Korean business community is ready to back up what Meta has planned and imagined.

Mark Zuckerberg has talked about Meta’s big plans for this year, including making an AI chip, adding to Metaverse, and making AI work on more platforms and devices.

It’s not a surprise that Meta wants to work with South Korea on AI because South Korea wants to invest in text data for big language models, AI technology, and computer power. Another event planned for May in South Korea is an Artificial Intelligence Safety Summit.
