After it was found that the Colorado kid had sent assistance to ISIS, he was recently detained on charges of conspiring to join the terrorist group.
The FBI went to see 16-year-old Humzah Mashkoor after receiving a tip from a social media user. A year later, as he was boarding a Denver flight that would eventually take him to Afghanistan, they detained him and accused him with plotting to join ISIS.
According to the allegation, Mashkoor has publicly endorsed ISIS and posted recordings of victims being put to death online. Humzah Mashkoor’s sympathy for ISIS was exposed when the police looked into his background and his intended trip to join the terrorist organization.
He expressed a wish to go back to his family in Nangarhar, Afghanistan, and other regions that are held by the Taliban. The accusation claims that Mashkoor claimed to have backed the Taliban in the past but that he began “looking more into” “the dawlah” after they “bombed the airport and took those Taliban and US soldiers and sent them to jahanam.”
Through social media, undercover FBI agents were able to directly communicate Mashkoor’s clear support for ISIS. Mashkoor said throughout the exchanges that he would comply with any request made by the terrorist group.
“I am ready to perform whatever task that they ask of me… Gun attacks, I only want to be used as soon as feasible. I’ve never had any training, though I did have some gun experience when I was younger. But that’s all,” Mashkoor is believed to have stated.
He is said to have taken the oath to join ISIS in October 2022. Before he turned 18, Mashkoor had planned out his support for the group, which included traveling to join ISIS, marrying someone who shared his views, and giving all of his money to the group in the form of bitcoin.
His original plan was to delay his travels until December 18, the day he was taken into custody.
