But the sentence has been pushed back twice, and people in Rankin County, Mississippi, want something to be done. They also said that they wanted the people who helped kill Damien Cameron, who was killed by Rankin County sheriffs, to be punished as well. Six men are being sentenced: Brett McAlpin, Christian Dedmon, Jeffrey Middleton, Hunter Edward, Daniel Opdyke, and Joshua Hartfield. Their sentencing was meant to start on January 16, but it has been pushed back to March 19.

“Today, groups from all over the state of Mississippi and the country are here to support the Michael Jenkins and Eddie Parker families.” The head of the Local Organizing Committee, Kareem Mohamed, said, “And all those people in Mississippi who have been hurt by the Goon Squad over the years.”

The cops are being charged with things that happened on January 24, 2023. On that day, five cops from Rankin County and one officer from Richland Police went into a home where Jenkins and Parker were staying without a warrant. Following this, Eddie Parker and Michael Jenkins were sexually attacked, hit, and shocked with Tasers for an hour and a half hour.

Since the delays, the people of Rankin County are speaking out about how they feel about the situation. They have said that they will keep protesting if the terms are not harsh enough.

All sixteen charges were dropped against all six men, who were involved in the crimes against Eddie Parker and Michael Jenkins. There are a lot of different charges, such as plot against rights, deprivation of rights under color of law, and conspiracy to obstruct justice.
