US President Joe Biden is receiving a lot of heat lately following a series of controversies as the midterm elections slowly approach this year.
In the recent controversy, the US president has been accused of pretending to care about the American people as he opened a discussion involving the Buffalo shooting victims.
On Tuesday, the president went to New York for a press conference about the recent controversy involving a teenage gunman who was allegedly responsible for a mass shooting at a supermarket on Sunday, located in a predominantly black area in Buffalo.
In the beginning of his remarks, Biden was spotted straining to muster a tear while saying “The center of attention who made everyone in the room laugh and smile when she walked in,”
“Andre Mackneil, 53, worked at a restaurant. Went to buy his three-year-old son a birthday cake. His son is celebrating a birthday, asking where is daddy? Katherine Massey, 72, a writer and an advocate who dressed up in costumes at schools and cut the grass in the park and helped in local elections.” Biden said as he went on, wincing.
Biden also talked about his grandfather and tried to relate it with the grieving family and friends of the victims.
“My grandpop used to say when I walked out of his home in Scranton, he said, ‘Joey, spread the faith.’ And my grandma would yell, ‘No, Joey.’ I mean, he said, ‘Keep the faith,’ and my grandma would say, ‘No Joey, spread the faith.’ We’re thinking of you. Hold on each other tightly,” he said. “Stick together. You’ll get through this.” Biden added.
Moreover, following Biden’s controversial remarks, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was grilled by the media as the president was blasted for his decision to go to Buffalo and questioned his strong interest in the Sunday mass shooting.
“How come the president is visiting Buffalo after a senseless tragedy there, but he couldn’t visit Waukesha after six were killed and 61 injured in an attack on a Christmas parade?” Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked.
“I mean, he’s visited many communities. Buffalo, you know, he’s able to go tomorrow to Buffalo before the trip. That is something that was important for him to do. But he has visited many other communities. This is… Buffalo is not the first community, sadly, that he has had to go up to because of a violent attack.” Jean-Pierre replied.
