Their borders have been closed since January 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects. They have now publicly opened their borders. During the outbreak, Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, had to make some tough choices and go to great lengths. This is because the outbreak had some of its worst effects in North Korea.

Russian tourists from Primorye who are going to Pyongyang, North Korea’s capital, are the first people from outside the country to enter. It is said that these Russian tourists will be going on a few trips before they get to a ski resort in Masik Pass.

The fact that Russians were the first tourists to be let into North Korea after the border opened shows that ties between the two countries are getting stronger. Recently, they were seen working together on defense technology, and trade between the two has grown.

Before the outbreak, there were a lot of Chinese tourists who came to North Korea. “Visitors from Russia are unlikely to be as financially profitable for North Korea as the return of more visitors from China,” said a professor at Ewha University in South Korea. But the risk to internal politics isn’t too high, and it would be a sign of better relations with Moscow, which fits with Pyongyang’s current geopolitical story.

We know this because we know about North Korea and the fancier parts of the country that tourists can visit. North Korea is known for having a lot of high-end facilities and places that are geared toward its rich and powerful citizens. Some of the most expensive things to do in Pyongyang, North Korea’s city, are for tourists with the most money.
