Adam Sandler got into a minor fender bender while driving in California on May 22.
According to the reports, the famous actor was driving along San Vicente Boulevard in the affluent Brentwood area of Southern California when the accident took place.
However, while most drivers involved in such accidents exchange insurance and registration after a crash, Sandler was spotted taking selfies with the other driver who is apparently a fan.
The two were also spotted laughing and seemed to be on good terms while Sandler checked out the few scratches on the vehicles involved.
Reports revealed that prior to the accident, Sandler returned from his New York trip where he gave a commencement speech to the graduating class of NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Apparently, NYU is reportedly the actor’s alma mater and he attended the event almost 34 years after he graduated college.
In his speech during the event, he praised the graduating students for their interests in Arts.
“We just want to give our fellow humans an escape from this increasingly psychotic world we live in.” Sandler said.
“The biggest reason we Tischies chose the arts is because we literally can’t do anything else. What was I gonna do, become an investment banker? I can’t even find my wallet three times a week.” The actor added.
The actor also attempted to crack a joke with the parents in the audience, claiming that they “really messed up” raising their graduating kids.
“You might be supporting these kids for a very long time. They are not leaving the nest anytime soon. This is a tough business they chose, but there’s still time to talk them out of it.” The Uncut Gems star said.
“I’m trying to talk my kids out of showbiz, and they know f—ing Adam Sandler.” He continued.
Sandler, who also has two teenage daughters with his wife, Jackie, also offered “two pieces of advice” to the parents.
“No. 1, somehow slip your kid’s headshot to Mr. Martin Scorsese before this event ends. He’ll love it, I promise. He’s probably gonna take the back exit outta here, so make sure you get there before he does.” Sandler jokes.
“And do not take no for an answer. That’s how Leo’s mom did it,” the actor added, referencing Academy Award winner Leonardo DiCaprio.
