House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband is in trouble with the law again after being arrested for drunk driving in California’s Napa County on Saturday.
According to the authorities, 82-year old Paul Pelosi was driving a 2021 Porsche along State Route 29 in Napa when a 2014 Jeep crashed into Pelosi’s car.
Allegedly, Pelosi drove under the influence of alcohol. He was later arrested and charged with drunk driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher as well as driving under the influence of alcohol at around 11:44 p.m., both misdemeanors.
In the record released by Napa County, Pelosi was taken and booked into Napa Valley Detention Center at 4:13 a.m. on Sunday but was released at 7:26 a.m with a bail set at $5,000.
Moreover, when Pelosi was asked about the controversy, her office issued an official statement, confirming her refusal to comment, citing “private matter.”

“The speaker will not be commenting on this private matter which occurred while she was on the East Coast,” Nancy Pelosi’s spokesperson said on Sunday.
Reports revealed that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was in Rhode Island on Saturday, delivering the commencement address at Brown University.
Furthermore, the CHP also confirmed that neither of the drivers involved in the crash sustained injuries. However, the investigation is still ongoing.
At the time of writing, it is still unclear whether Pelosi was heading to the vineyard that he and Speaker Pelosi owned, prior to the accident.
However, following the accident, many slammed Pelosi’s mega-millionaire husband. According to the critics, Pelosi could have saved thousands by calling an Uber instead of driving under the influence of alcohol.
“If he was leaving Napa to travel to San Francisco, where the Pelosi family owns multiple properties, and had chosen Uber instead of driving, it would have cost approximately $103.90. A Black SUV for the ride, Uber’s most expensive option, would have cost only $329.54. There are also several hotel options in the Napa area that start around $150.” The Fox News wrote.
In the House Speaker’s personal financial disclosure in 2018, Nancy Pelosi is one of the wealthiest members in the Congress with a net worth of at least $114 million. Her husband, Paul Pelosi has also reportedly received more than $100 million from his San Francisco-based venture capital firm, Financial Leasing Services.
