Rolls-Royce Talks About a Big Project That Will Fund 1,000 Jobs

Rolls-Royce has come out to talk about the Australian Government’s support, which they say will create more than 1,000 jobs in Derby, UK.

The project was paid for by more than one organization, but the UK’s Ministry of Defence will likely get new office space and factories as a result. The Australian government said that over the next ten years, they would send more than $4 billion to the UK to help the Rolls-Royce nuclear plant production line.

They didn’t say much about the funding, but they did say that it would “enable the Rolls-Royce factory in Derby to operate at an increased rate of production.”

The UK MOD and the Australian Department of Defence are now funding the growth work that was announced last summer. The company said on their website that the work will create over 1,000 new jobs in Derby in a variety of fields, such as manufacturing and engineering.

The plan that will start in ten years hasn’t been broken down or given any specifics yet, but the Australian government has been pushing forward and thinks the spending is very important.

That’s why Rolls-Royce spoke out in praise of the money: “to double the size of the Rolls-Royce Submarines site in Raynesway, Derby.”

Some people were against giving the money because they wanted the Australian government to be honest with the people of Australia about the money, where it’s coming from, and the jobs that will be created because of it.
