Google has given their AI robot Bard a whole new look and feel with a new official launch.

The main rival to OpenAI’s ChatGPT used to be Bard. But now, Google has changed the name of the chatbot to “Gemini” and is starting a rebranding campaign for it. Google also said that their tool can be accessed in a few different ways. For example, Android users can get an app, and iPhone users can use Gemini through the Google app.

Google is working on AI assistants or agents and putting more time and money into them. They have said that these changes to Gemini are the first steps toward “building a true AI assistant.” Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said that the company was committed to making an AI agent, but he also said that there was “a lot of execution ahead.”

If you want to use the Gemini AI assistant, you can also subscribe to it. To get access to Gemini Ultra 1.0, users would need to pay $19.99 a month for a Google One contract. These users would also be able to use Gemini in Google apps like Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Meet, and Google Slides.

Since Thursday, Gemini has been available in 150 countries. Right now, it’s only available in English because of a language lock. Google does plan to add more language choices, including a number of other languages.

The business said that they changed the name because they wanted users to know that they were talking to an AI model directly. The CEO said, “Bard was the way to talk to our cutting-edge models, and Gemini is our cutting-edge model.”

The AI chatbot could, for example, look at everyone’s calendars to find a time that works for everyone to hang out, plan some trip activities, or do certain tasks like making outbound sales. Also, the business said they thought their AI would do “beyond answers and follow-through for users even more.”
