Democrats are eyeing US Vice President Kamala Harris for the country’s presidential seat in case US President Joe Biden decides not to run.
During the recent poll, many Democrats still want President Biden to seek re-election in 2024.
However, after he revealed early this month that it’s too early for him to decide whether he would run or not, the Democrats in the poll chose Harris their top choice in a hypothetical party primary if Biden would not enter the ring.
According to a new Morning Consult-Politico poll, they discovered that 59 percent of the Democrat voters still think that President Biden should make another run for the Oval Office, up from 53 percent in August despite all controversies against him.
If the Dems decide Biden isn’t their guy in 2024, they won’t be looking to Kamala Harris as the candidate.

Just this March, president Biden garnered a 66 percent on re-election votes among Democrats. However, the number dropped to 51 percent in July amid low approval ratings.
But currently, president Biden appears to be climbing back into favor.
However, if the president would not seek re-election, 28 percent of the Democrats are planning to cast their ballot for Harris.
In 2020, Harris ran for the presidential seat. However, she withdrew from the race to endorse Joe Biden.
Moreover, if Harris won’t run, the Democrats are eyeing Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who has recently drawn more 2024 rumors, with 13 percent.
In December, the number of Democrats supporting Buttigieg surged by 2 points while the support for Harris dropped by 5 points, from 33 percent.
Furthermore, lower down on the list was Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.) with 8 percent votes, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) with 7 percent, California Gov. Gavin Newsom with 6 percent and Sen. Amy Klobuchar (Minn.) with 4 percent.
However, despite the rumor whether Newsom would run or not the California governor confirmed that he’s got no plans to pursue the White House in 2024 or even in 2028.
The poll was reportedly conducted from Sept. 23 to 25. It also surveyed 751 registered Democrat voters, with a margin of error of 2 percentage points.
