Joy Behar Caught Breaking Vow About Wearing A Mask Indefinitely

After making a commitment to wearing a mask “indefinitely” in public places, ‘The View’ co-host Joy Behar has already been seen breaking that vow.

During the show, the co-hosts argued about the effectiveness of wearing masks and the changing mask guidelines from the CDC.

“Personally, I listen to the little voice in my head that doesn’t really follow a hundred percent what they tell me because they keep changing it,” Behar said. “A very short time ago, they were saying put the N95 masks on … and now they’re saying ‘you don’t have to wear them anymore.”

“So if I go on the subway, if I go in a bus, if I go into the theater, if I go into, where else would I go? A crowded place, I would wear a mask, and I might do that indefinitely,” she added. “Because why do I need the flu or a cold even? And so I’m listening to myself right now. I don’t think it’s 100% safe yet.”

However, Post Millennial’s editor-in-chief Libby Simmons spotted Behar out in a New York City restaurant without a mask.

“Joy Behar said she was going to mask in public places “indefinitely” because it’s just not safe. Except for last night out at this restaurant, apparently,” Simmons posted on Twitter. “I hear that she also walked out of the restaurant unmasked, though her companions dutifully donned theirs.”

The CDC announced recently that it will start to loosen COVID-19 mask guidelines, as the U.S. sees a drop in severe cases and hospital capacities.

“We want to give people a break from things like mask wearing when these metrics are better and then have the ability to reach for them again should things worsen,” Walensky said.

“We are looking at an overview of much of our guidance — and masking in all settings will be a part of that,” she added. “We’ll soon put guidance in place.”

The move comes after several states have recently declared that they will be dropping mask mandates in their area amid the declining rate of COVID-19 infections in the nation and the decreasing effect of the Omicron variant.
