Because artificial intelligence is so famous and in high demand, Alibaba Cloud just put out the newest version of its large language model.

Jingren Zhou, the chief technology officer of Alibaba Cloud, said that the company has seen “many creative applications of the models from across the industries,” such as in games and electronics.

Zhou went on to say, “We look forward to working with our customers and developers to take advantage of the huge growth opportunities that the latest surge in generative AI development brings.”

The company put out Qwen2.5, the newest version of its Tongyi Qianwen model. Their new version of their AI system has “remarkable improvements in reasoning, code comprehension, and textual understanding compared to its predecessor Qwen2.0,” they said.

A lot of companies, like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, have added large language models to their systems. These models are trained on huge amounts of data to make answers that sound like they came from a person.

According to a study, the newest version of Qwen is better than OpenAI’s ChatGPT-4 model in terms of creation and language. However, it seemed to be worse in terms of knowledge, reasoning, and match.

Alibaba Cloud said that their Qwen-powered AI services have been used by more than two million business users. Along with the new Qwen model, a number of models have been made open source, and Model Studio has been improved.

Chinese tech giants like Baidu and Tencent have also been putting out similar apps because people want this kind of AI.
