The results are from Nevada’s Republican Presidential primary. The election for president is coming up soon, and the candidates are going all out with their campaigns and primary votes.
People know that Nikki Haley is running against Donald Trump, and they have been working hard in the primaries. Trump has won a lot of presidential races, but this one was different.
Nikki Haley lost even though Donald Trump wasn’t even on the ballot in Nevada. They could write “none of these candidates” instead of Donald Trump, even though he wasn’t on the ballot and there was no place for him to be written in.
People chose “none” instead of Haley in the primary, even though there were no other candidates on the ticket. Nikki Haley doesn’t seem to care about how the Nevada election turned out. Haley’s campaign manager, Betsy Ankey, said, “We haven’t spent a dime or an ounce of energy on Nevada.” In other words, Nevada has never been or is not our main goal.
Olivia Perez-Cubas, a spokeswoman for Haley’s campaign, said, “Even Donald Trump knows that the house wins when you play penny slots.” We didn’t play a game that was set up to help Trump win. We’re moving forward quickly in South Carolina and elsewhere.
Some people still think Haley could win in Nevada, even though the results are in, while others want Trump to get another term. Nevada is also having a Presidential caucus, and Trump’s name will be on the ticket. The results will be known soon.
Some people have said that Nevada’s caucus is meant to help Trump, so they have chosen not to be on that vote because they don’t want to take part in something that Trump has already won.
