Former Fox News personality Geraldo Rivera blasted fellow ex-anchor Tucker Carlson after both of their departure from the news network.

“Due respect to Tucker Carlson, but he’s as full of s—t about Ukraine as he was about January 6th,” Rivera tweeted on July 6. “His smiley face doesn’t change [the] fact Russia invaded sovereign Ukraine; 1000’s are dead, including women & children, the world order is assailed and Putin is a punk.”

This comes after he announced his retirement from Fox News last month, saying he was no longer a co-host of the network’s “The Five.”

“We reached an amicable conclusion with Geraldo over the past few weeks and look forward to celebrating him on Fox & Friends Friday morning which will be his last appearance on the network,” a Fox News spokesperson said following his departure.

Rivera, who has long served as the show’s “odd man out,” previously hinted at his departure after posting a cryptic tweet suggesting that his time at Fox News may come to an end.

“My appearances today and tomorrow on The Five have been canceled,” Rivera tweeted back in May. “I’m sure there’s a good reason. Never fear, I’ll be back week after next. Stay safe and happy. Thanks.”

Fox News’ ratings have been tanking after forcing out Carlson in April in an apparent effort to rebuild the network’s audience.

“Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” the network said in a statement at the time. “We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.”

Shortly after Carlson’s departure, Fox News reportedly lost over two-thirds of its audience, with a 39 percent drop in viewers during Sean Hannity’s 9 p.m. show and a 24 percent decrease in the key demographic during the 10 p.m. hour. The network’s prime-time programming, which is their main source of income, has also suffered from the decline in ratings.

It’s unclear what the future holds for Fox News as it tries to turn around its financial situation. But many believe the network needs to make some significant adjustments if they want to maintain their status as the country’s top cable news network.
