During a journey on the Narrow Gauge train from Durango to Silverton, a passenger had a remarkable encounter that diverted her attention from her husband’s search for elk.
In Cheyenne, Wyoming, Stetson Tyler, Shannon Parker’s husband, believed he had spotted Bigfoot.
Another fellow traveler, named Brandon, managed to capture the elusive creature on video. In the footage, the mysterious figure was seen prowling on the mountainside before eventually crouching and sitting down.
As the supposed Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, paced back and forth, it blended into the dark brown shrubbery around, occasionally glancing at the steam engine train passing by.
As the train continued on its journey, the camera lost sight of the mythical creature. Parker described the experience as a “once in a lifetime” event, as neither she nor her husband had ever witnessed anything like it.
The video quickly gained popularity on social media, receiving a mix of both praise and skepticism.
Some viewers believed the footage to be authentic, while others considered it a hoax. Out There Colorado shared the video on their X account, garnering more than three thousand likes and prompting users to share humorous memes and GIFs.
This recent Bigfoot sighting isn’t the first of its kind. In August, a video from 2015, captured by hunter Josh Highcliffe, resurfaced and received attention from Bigfoot enthusiasts.
Highcliffe uploaded the video to his channel after it was praised as significant evidence of the mythical creature by other Bigfoot hunters.
The footage, recorded nine miles west of Tunica, Mississippi, shows a large, broad-backed figure, possibly resembling a gorilla, peeling bark from a tree trunk.
The legend of Bigfoot traces its origins back to 1958 when a reader’s humorous letter in the Humboldt Times reported loggers discovering large footprints in northern California.
The name “Bigfoot” was coined at that moment. However, in 2002, Ray Wallace revealed the discovery as a hoax.
Despite the skepticism, those in search of Bigfoot believe that the creature, often associated with the ape Gigantopithecus blacki, may still be lurking in the forests of the Pacific Northwest.
Many people across the United States claim to have photographic or physical evidence of Bigfoot’s existence, with sightings reported from California to Washington, Utah to Mississippi.
