On Thursday, the updated indictment was released by the authorities, bringing the total number of federal charges against the Democrat mega donor to 12.

In an exclusive report published by Breitbart News, “Bankman-Fried originally faced eight criminal counts in December 2022 and was extradited from the Bahamas soon afterwards. According to the FT report, the new charge sheet lists evidence that appears to come from two of Bankman-Fried’s closest former colleagues, the head of FTX’s trading affiliate Alameda, Caroline Ellison, and FTX co-founder Gary Wang.”

“Both the latter two pleaded guilty to criminal charges in December and agreed to cooperate with U.S. prosecutors. It also claims Bankman-Fried sought to influence politicians by donating tens of millions of dollars to campaigns,” the report added.

Moreover, after the new indictment was unsealed in the US District Court in Manhattan, Manhattan U.S. Attorney Damian Williams released an official statement, claiming that “we are hard at work and will remain so until justice is done.”

According to Breitbart, “Bankman-Fried is accused of stealing FTX customer deposits and using billions of dollars of those stolen funds to support FTX’s and Alameda’s operations and investments, to fund speculative investments, to make charitable contributions, and to enrich himself, the indictment notes.”

Furthermore, the new indictment alleged that the top Democrat donor attempted “to purchase influence over cryptocurrency regulation in Washington, D.C., by steering tens of millions of dollars in illegal campaign contributions to both Democrats and Republicans.”

The indictment also accused  Bankman-Fried and his co-conspirators of making “over 300 political contributions, totaling tens of millions of dollars, that were unlawful because they were made in the name of a straw donor or paid for with corporate funds.”

“To avoid certain contributions being publicly reported in his name, Bankman-Fried conspired to and did have certain political contributions made in the names of two other FTX executives,” the new filing continued.
