A suspect in an Atlanta shooting, intentionally injuring one officer after being sent to serve a warrant, has been granted bail this week.

The Atlanta police were sent to serve a warrant on the suspect, identified as Christian Eppinger in early February. However, Eppinger wasn’t pleased and reportedly shot one of the police officers six times.

According to the reports, Eppinger was out on probation at the time the warrant was supposed to be served and has an extensive criminal record, including a previous prison stint.

However, despite the violent attack, a Fulton County Judge granted Eppinger bail, sparking outrage and criticisms from the public and Atlanta police. Prosecutors in the community even submitted an emergency motion to prevent bail for Eppinger.

“BACK THE BLUE CAUSE IT’S GONNA GET WORSE TOO!  “Christian Eppinger, a gang member accused of shooting an Atlanta policeman six times, has been released on bond.” A twitter user said.

Moreover, to add insult to injury, Eppinger reportedly posted on Instagram, thanking the judge for granting him bail and stated that he’s about to return to his residence.

On Wednesday last week, after the suspect was granted a bond, Fulton District Attorney Fani Willis confirmed that “he has not been physically released from jail because there is currently a hold on him.”
