The Biden Administration will send Ukraine yet another $250 million aid package, the Department of Defense announced on Tuesday.

Since the beginning of Russia’s invasion in February 2022, there have been 45 packages. The amount of security aid provided by the United States to Ukraine has already reached more than $43 billion.

According to Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh, the department has also announced additional security support or package to fulfill the critical safety and defense requirements of Ukraine.

Singh also added that the United States will keep cooperating with its allies and partners to give Ukraine the necessary tools to address its short-term security system needs and its long-term battlefield requirements.

The most recent allocation will consist of air defense missiles (AIM-9M), more ammunition for HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems), artillery rounds which measure 155 mm and 105 mm, tools for clearing mines, tube-launched, optically tracked, wire-guided, or “TOW,” missiles, rockets and other anti-armor systems, such as Javelin, rockets (Hydra-70), more than 3 million rounds of ammo for small arms, high-mobility multifunctional wheeled vehicles, ambulances, and armored medical treatment vehicles, bombs designed to destroy obstacles, maintenance, field equipment, and spare parts.

Reuters stated that Joe Biden had requested Congress to authorize an additional $24 billion in aid earlier this month.

It can be recalled in a statement from last June that Joe Biden pledged his support for the struggles of Ukraine against Moscow for “as long as it takes.”

A sustained commitment to the cause, as he mentioned, will force Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, to reconsider the necessity and usefulness of the conflict.

Serious concerns about the US involvement and goals in the conflict have been brought up by the constant supply of US military assistance to Ukraine. The American taxpayer is left to ponder the true purpose of such an enormous and growing financial commitment after more than $75 billion has already been invested.

The United States has given Ukraine more than $75 billion in assistance since the war started, including humanitarian, financial, and military support, based on the Council on Foreign Relations.
