US Navy Ships are reportedly at risk after China reportedly tested a new hypersonic ballistic missile.

The Chinese Military reportedly disclosed a video of a previously unreported missile test and surfaced in Chinese social media days before the Chinese fleet’s 73rd birthday.

In the clip, the missiles are shown most likely China’s YJ-21 which is known as the Eagle Strike 21, with a maximum distance of 620 miles.

According to the analysis released by the NavalNews, the missile was most likely “a cold-launched heavy anti-ship rocket with a hypersonic gliding component.”

Reports also revealed that the rocket was launched from China’s most powerful surface warfare ship, specifically a type of 055 warship with a weight of roughly 13,000 tons which is very much unlike the US Navy’s Ticonderoga-class cruisers, which only have a weight of 9,800 tons.

The video surfaced prior to a meeting on April 20 between US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and his Chinese colleague, Gen. Wei Fenghe.

In a brief statement released by the Pentagon following the call, it was revealed that the officials discussed “international security challenges.”
