The National Rifle Association made a major anti-gun control pledge to fight against any gun control bills to protect the Americans’ gun rights from any legislatures that attempts to ram through.
The NRA’s movement was fueled by the recent announcement released by the Senate, showing a framework indicating gun control proposals.
In a tweet that the association posted, the organization explained that while they know that the NRA won’t take a stance on a framework, the association will fight back hard against gun control bills.
“(1/3) The NRA is committed to real solutions to help stop violence in our communities. We encourage our elected officials to provide more resources to secure our schools, fix our severely broken mental health system and support law enforcement.” The NRA tweeted.
“(2/3) As is our policy, the NRA does not take positions on “frameworks”. We will make our position known when the full text of the bill is available for review.” It added.
The NRA also vowed to continue to fight against any gun control policies that will override the due process that protects law-abiding citizens from being deprived of their gun rights.
“(3/3) NRA will continue to oppose any effort to insert gun control policies, initiatives that override constitutional due process protections & efforts to deprive law-abiding citizens of their fundamental right to protect themselves/loved ones into this or any other legislation.” The Association claimed.
On the other hand, several Democrats, including the “bipartisan” group of RINOs also released their framework that particularly focuses on improving widely supported mental health measures. However, it takes the radical step of supporting red flag laws
When announcing the framework, Senator Chris Murphy also added that “major funding to help states pass and implement crisis intervention orders (red flag laws) that will allow law enforcement to temporarily take dangerous weapons away from people who pose a danger to others or themselves.”
“Enhanced background check for under 21 gun buyers and a short pause to conduct the check. Young buyers can get the gun only after the enhanced check is completed.” He added.
According to the reports, gun rights supporters are concerned about the support that “red flag laws” are getting as they could give the government the power to seize an individual’s weapons without due process if he or she is deemed dangerous by the state.
