Increasing number of suspected terrorists, illegally entering the United States has sparked concerns among the border patrols and public amid the border crisis under the Biden administration.
Late Friday, new data on illegal immigrants crossing southern border, revealed that the Border Patrol agents have encountered 98 suspected terrorists in fiscal year 2022.
The increasing number of suspected terrorists entering the US has alarmed the public after the 2021 data only showed only 15, 3 in 2020 and 0 in 2019.
In a tweet posted by Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin, “Border Patrol arrests of people on the Terrorist Screening Database (TSDB) caught crossing illegally at the southern border, per CBP data. FY’22 : 98, FY’21 : 15, FY’20 : 3, FY’19 : 0, FY’18 : 6, FY’17 : 2, At 98, FY’22 is nearly quadruple the previous five years combined (26).”
Moreover, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection also explained that “the Terrorist Screening Dataset (TSDS) – also known as the “watchlist” – is the U.S. government’s database that contains sensitive information on terrorist identities. The TSDS originated as the consolidated terrorist watchlist to house information on known or suspected terrorists (KSTs) but has evolved over the last decade to include additional individuals who represent a potential threat to the United States, including known affiliates of watchlisted individuals.”
However, the recent data only showed the number of suspected terrorists who were caught and not the estimated one million illegal aliens who reportedly evaded law enforcement while crossing the border into the country and disappearing into American communities.
“Late night drop CBP finally released the number of encounters Border Patrol at the southern border in Sept: Over 227,000. For fiscal year 2022, there were over 2.3 million encounters. This does not include the number of illegal immigrants who managed to avoid apprehension,” Julio Rosas posted on Twitter.
The Border Patrol Union – NBPC also posted on Twitter and said, “If you think the lawlessness at the border and the millions illegally crashing it has been bad during Biden’s term so far, wait until the numbers keep rolling in for this FY. Already shattering records again. We said months ago he was just getting started. And he was.”
