Rodolfo Castro recently dropped a call in his return to the big leagues.

According to the reports, the Pittsburgh infielder lost his phone during a slide into third base.

On Tuesday night, the Pirates lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-4.

During an interview with the Pittsburgh media members, Castro said through an interpreter that “I don’t think there’s any professional ballplayer that would ever go out there with any intentions of taking a cellphone. It’s horrible it happened to me. Obviously, it was very unintentional.”

Rookie Tommy Henry (1-1) was sharp in his Chase Field debut, allowing a run on four hits in seven innings for his first big league win.

Moreover, he reportedly made a different kind of noise after he was being called up from Triple-A Indianapolis with his phone.

He then walked in the fourth inning and later went to third on Oneil Cruz’s single. Castro also slid headfirst into the bag, sending his phone flying from his back pocket.

Following the incident, Adam Hamari later saw the phone and pointed it at the ground in which Castro immediately picked up and handed it to Pirates third base coach Mike Rebelo, who had an exasperated look on his face before taking it.

According to Castro, he put his glove in his pocket and forgot about the phone.

“You stay around the game and you see things you haven’t seen before. This was just a kid who made a mistake. It’s just one of those things we move forward from and tell him, ‘You can’t do that.’” Pirates manager Derek Shelton said.

After the incident, Major League Baseball cracked down on technology that was used on the field after the Houston Astros used live TV feeds in an attempt to steal opposing teams’ signs amid their run to the 2017 World Series championship and part of the 2018 season.

Moreover, Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow and manager A. J. Hinch got suspended for the 2020 season.

Not only that, Astros were also fined $5 million and got their first- and second-round picks in 2020 and 2021 forfeited.

On Wednesday, Castro might want to keep his phone close by in case MLB decides that it wants to impose some penalty.

“My first day back, if I was to be the center of attention, I would want it to be helping the team win, but never in this form. This is definitely something that was an accident, a mistake, something I’m going to learn from. But definitely something I didn’t mean to happen.” Castro claimed.

Mark Melancon worked around a walk in the ninth for his 16th save. Zach Thompson (3-9) took the loss.
