Kamala Harris Ripped For Woke Tweet While Russia Bombards Ukraine

Vice President Kamala Harris received backlash from critics on Thursday after posting a poorly timed tweet calling for Congress to pass the Equality Act amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.

“Let’s send the Equality Act to President Biden’s desk. We must increase protections for LGBTQ+ Americans across the country. The onslaught of state bills targeting transgender Americans and their families is wrong,” Harris wrote.

Russian forces attacked the Zaporizhzhya nuclear plant, the largest nuclear facility in Europe located in southern Ukraine, leading to fears of a potential nuclear disaster similar to Chernobyl in 1986. There have been no reports of increased radiation readings since the Russians took over the plant.

Critics took to social media to slam Harris, questioning why she would be focused on a separate issue than the invasion and other critical issues happening within America, such as the rise in inflation and the border crisis.

“America: inflation is screwing us, our border is lawless, and there’s a ground war in Europe. Kamala: we need to get men in women’s sports asap,” wrote Representative Dan Crenshaw of Texas

“What a luxury that we can be focused on pronouns during a time like this,” another critic wrote on Twitter, while one argued Americans should be “terrified” to be driven by this administration during the current issues confronting the world.

This is the second time this week Harris was criticized. She was called out on Tuesday after claiming voters that they “got what they asked for” in electing her and President Biden.

Since Monday, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has intensified after bombing the country’s second-largest city of Kharkiv. Zelensky called the deadly missile strikes a “war crime”.

“The strike against Kharkiv is a war crime. This is state terrorism on the part of Russia,” Zelensky said in a video. “No one will forgive. No one will ever forget.”

Russia reported that 500 troops were killed and 1,600 wounded, which were far lower than the 5,000 Russian deaths reported by Western media, while Ukraine said more than 2,000 civilians had been killed.

Peace talks between the two nations are expected to resume on Thursday following a failed peace negotiation that first occurred on Monday.
