Liberals on the internet are having a meltdown over photos of grade-schoolers in Hot Springs County, Wyoming learning about gun safety.
Posting to its official Facebook account, the Hot Springs County School District #1 page shared images of students learning firearm safety using air rifles.
“All students passed their safety test and have been sharpening their skills,” the caption read.
The post immediately caught the attention of people on social media, garnering 66,000 shares and over 6,000 comments in just hours.
Despite the post clearly stating that the students were provided with air rifles and not loaded firearms, many left-leaning users still condemned the photos and compared teaching kids about proper firearm safety to training them as the next school shooters.
“Do they go straight from their gun marksmanship training to their active shooter drills?” asked one user.
“America is a dystopian hellhole,” another commenter wrote.
The posters have since taken the photo down, but screenshots of the viral post and the photos themselves still managed to circulate all over social media.
There is currently no concrete evidence that suggests that teaching kids about proper gun safety would lead to them becoming violent in the future.
Many argue that children with proper knowledge and discipline on firearms are more likely to be responsible gun owners when they grow up.
Luckily, there were still some Facebook users in the original post that understood the benefit of learning about gun safety from a young age.
“This is what America needs more of,” one comment read. “Education and responsible firearm ownership.”
“This is so awesome! Probably one of the safest schools in the country too,” said another. “I need to find a school like this for my son once he’s old enough!”
Gun-related deaths mostly occur from a lack of proper firearm safety, with the most recent example being the fatal shooting of a cinematographer by liberal actor Alec Baldwin while filming a movie in New Mexico.
Baldwin, an outspoken attacker on gun rights, violated several of the basic rules of firearm safety, which led to accidentally shooting the cinematographer.
Teaching children gun safety lessons at an early age can help prevent any accidents or disasters when they’re all grown up. If Baldwin had those lessons in his youth, filming for his movie may have gone smoothly without any gun-related accidents.
