Most Americans claimed that they are concerned of the rising inflation in the United States, a Rasmussen Reports survey on Thursday found.
According to the survey, the high inflation in the country is the top concern among Americans with 91% of American voters claiming that they worry about its effects, following data showing the soaring inflation to 8.6 percent.
In a news article published by Breitbart recently, it was revealed that “inflation hit a four-decade high of 8.557 percent in March and moved down to 8.3 percent in April. Economists had expected inflation to tick down to 8.2 percent in May. This is the twelfth straight month of inflation above 5 percent.”
“Excluding food and energy, prices were up six percent compared with a year ago, more than the 5.9 percent anticipated. In the month, prices rose 0.6 percent, matching last month’s gain and beating the expectation for a slowdown to 0.5 percent.” The news report added.
A Rasmussen survey revealed that among the 91 percent of American voters who are concerned about high inflation, 69 percent are “very” concerned.
In the same survey, it was also revealed that 97 percent of Republicans, 90 percent of Democrats, and 88 percent of independents are also concerned about inflation.
In addition, 89 percent of Americans also expressed their concern for the country’s economy with 96 percent of Republicans, 85 percent of Democrats, and 87 percent of independents revealed they are more concerned about the economy as well.
Other issues involving violent crime with 88 percent concerned, climate change with 64 percent are concerned, illegal immigration with 66 percent concerned, and preventing cheating in elections with 75 percent are concerned were also addressed.
Recent reports revealed that the inflation rate currently is higher than it’s been since the early 1980s. Biden administration officials have also acknowledged that they missed their call.
According to the latest report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, “the annual inflation rate in May was 8.6%, its highest level since 1981, as measured by the consumer price index. Other inflation metrics also have shown significant increases over the past year or so, though not quite to the same extent as the CPI.”
