An Illegal immigrant was arrested and charged for allegedly stabbing and slitting the throats of a married couple in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The suspect was identified by the Volusia County authorities as 32-year old Jean Robert Macean, a few days after the authorities released photos and video footage of him.
He was arrested at his Orlando apartment last Thursday after an intense manhunt conducted by the police.
According to the reports, the victims identified as 48-year old Terry Aultman and 55-year old Brenda Aultman, were cycling home from the city’s Bike Week festivities when Macean randomly attacked them.
On March 7, an anonymous passerby reported to the police after he saw the couple’s bleeding bodies on the side of the road with multiple stab wounds and their throats cut.
“It was one of the most vicious and horrific incidents I had ever witnessed.” The local police chief said.
The inmate records also revealed that Macean is currently being held in the Volusia County Jail on two first-degree murder charges and an additional “illegal immigrant/alien” charge without bond.
Macean later confessed to the murders in interviews with police.
Following the horrifying incident, Brenda Aultman’s daughter spoke up regarding the incident and called the suspect a “monster”.
“They went to the beach every day. It was like their dream house. They bought bicycles. They just bought a Jeep. They loved it. They loved the neighborhood,” a neighbor also said, recalling how the couple was extremely happy to be enjoying life together.
