After the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided former US President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida and broke into a safe in his palatial home, several Americans are suggesting that former US President Barack Obama’s residence should rightfully be the next in line to be raided.
Last week, Donald Trump announced on his social media forum Truth Social that his property in Florida had been “raided, and occupied” by the FBI and was “currently under siege,” seizing multiple sets of documents marked top secret.
Reports also revealed that the operation was rudely done after the agents just barged into Trump’s property and turned the whole place upside down while searching every corner of the building.
“Agents broke into the safe, manhandled Melania Trump’s clothing, and absconded with boxes of supposed documents meant for preservation. After causing a scene here, they neither allowed Trump’s lawyers to monitor this search nor spoke to the media about what they intended or had found in this raid.” Trending Politics reported, according to Trump.
According to the reports, the FBI launched the operation to seek for some national records who have been missing and were allegedly taken away from the White House.
Following the decision, many suggested that the FBI should also search Obama’s property as well after reports found out that the documents being tracked go back to 2018.
“Dozens of files were reported missing after Obama left the White House,” the report added.
“Mueller is looking at Podesta and Obama’s white house lawyer. As they did with Trump, his offices should be raided next. A treasure trove of corruption is available for the taking, to assure fame and fortune for Mueller and all involved indefinitely.” Twitter user Kevin Mulvina said.
In a report published by the Real Clear Politics, it was revealed that “in the middle of directing the difficult task of transferring the historically important records of the Obama administration into the National Archives, the archivist in charge, David Ferriero, ran into a serious problem: A lot of key records are missing.”
Moreover, Obama also reportedly signed the Presidential and Federal Records Act Amendments which clarified the responsibilities of federal government officials when they use “non-government email systems” and empowered “the National Archives to safeguard original and classified records from unauthorized removal.“
