A retired co-founder of the House Depot claimed that the “woke generation” will make lousy business leaders, adding that they would only waste money and time on social justice projects.

93-year old retired Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus claimed that he did not want to see the “woke generation” to be the future business leaders for they would only waste money and time on things such as “global warming” instead of the company’s bottom line.

The outspoken businessman released a statement during an exclusive interview with Fox News, claiming that “I certainly don’t want to see the woke generation coming up, especially the leaders.”

In 2002, Marcus retired and has no longer any involvement in the company’s day-to-day operations since then.

In the same interview, Marcus also called the woke generation “lazy” and claimed that “nobody wants to work anymore” because of “laziness” and the benefit that they could get from the government.

According to Marcus, had been following the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos “and they’re recommending spending more money on climate control when we don’t have it. We’ve already overspent. And if anything, climate control has caused most of the problems we have today.”

“We need leaders who are basically thinking about the shareholders and their employees. And I think today it’s all about woke diversity, things that don’t hit the bottom line,” the outspoken retired Home Depot co-founder said.

He also added that “You can’t hire people. Nobody wants to work anymore, especially office people” and the reason being is that “they’re entitled, they’re given everything.”

“So you get this laziness … and it’s basically a socialistic society,” Marcus claimed, adding that people wanted to work “three days a week.”

During his interview with Financial Times last December, Marcus also made similar statements, saying, “How do you have a recession when you have people that don’t want jobs? There are plenty of jobs out there.”

Amid the controversy, the Home Depot released an official statement to show that the company had no involvement with Marcus’ comments.

“Bernie Marcus retired from The Home Depot more than 20 years ago and does not speak on behalf of the company,” the company said.
