In a report released by The Hill, White House National Security Director John Kirby revealed that the DOD is providing more “security support” to Ukraine which includes ammo for the High Mobility Ballistic Rocket System and 155mm artillery.

On Monday, the Department of Defense revealed that the United States had sent $8.8 billion to Ukraine since Joe Biden took office.

“In total, the United States has committed approximately $8.8 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of the Biden administration,” DOD said as per Inside Defense.

“Since 2014, the United States has committed more than $10 billion in security assistance to Ukraine.” The report added.

The Monday statement came 9 days after the DOD reportedly pledged an additional $270 million in aid to Ukraine amid its battle against Russia.

Furthermore, towards the end of June, the United States and the World Bank have reportedly offered a “total of $1.7 billion in aid for Ukraine’s war-torn healthcare sector.”

Last July 12, the Associated Press reported that the U.S government has additional $1.7 billion in assistance.

However, Viktor Liashko, Ukraine’s minister of health, made it clear that paying the country’s health workers’ salaries is “becoming more difficult each month due to the overwhelming burden of war.”

“$1.7 billion is not just yet another financial support; it is an investment that makes us a step closer to victory,” Liashko said in an official statement.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) also announced the provision of cash to completely end Vladimir Putin’s “brutal war of aggression” against Ukraine.

At the time of writing, the United States has already delivered four billion dollars to the Eastern European Country.

Meanwhile, USAID superintendent Samantha Power told The AP in the recent interview  that although Putin’s “assault on Ukraine’s public services continues, the United States is rushing in with financial support to help the government keep the lights on, provide essential services to innocent citizens and pay the healthcare workers who are providing lifesaving support on the frontlines.”

Last June, President Joe Biden also vowed that the United States will continue to support Ukraine in its fight against Russia.

“We are going to support Ukraine as long as it takes,”

“They’ve had to renege on their national debt for the first time since the beginning, in almost well over a hundred years. They’ve lost 15 years of the gains they’ve made in terms of their economy,” Biden said of Russia.

“They’re going to have trouble maintaining oil production because they don’t have the technology to do it. They need American technology. They’re also in a similar situation in terms of their weapons systems and some of their military systems. So they’re paying a very, very heavy price for this.” The president lamented.
