There was a shooting outside of Union Station just as Kansas City Chiefs fans were finishing a party. One person was killed and 22 were hurt in the shooting.

The Kansa City cops say they have two juvenile suspects in custody for the crime right now. With the help of the juvenile prosecutors, a police spokesperson said, they were able “to review investigative findings and determine applicable charges.” The cops say that several guns were found and taken away.

Half of the people who were shot were younger than 16 years old. Of the 22 people who were hurt, 7 were seriously hurt and 8 were severely hurt. Children’s Mercy Hospital said that they took in 11 kids between the ages of 6 and 15. Nine of the kids had been shot, and the rest were mostly hurt by the chaos caused by the gunshots.

University Health Hospital said that the next day, they had 8 people with gunshot wounds, including 2 who were in serious condition. According to the doctors, the first person to arrive was the one in the worst shape. Within five minutes of the killing, they said, a man with serious injuries that were 90% likely to kill him arrived. Doctors say he might not have made it if he hadn’t come in when he did.
