FBI agents searched near the Texas home of U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar on Wednesday as they conducted what an agency spokeswoman called “court-authorized law enforcement activity.”
In an official statement that Cuellar released on Wednesday, he made it clear that he “will fully cooperate in any investigation. He is committed to ensuring that justice and the law are upheld.”
According to the FBI, “it was present in the vicinity of Windridge Drive and Estate Drive in Laredo conducting court-authorized law enforcement activity.” and they couldn’t provide further information about the search.
Moreover, in a news article published by the Texas news site myrgv.com, a dozen agents were reportedly taking “cases and other items” from Cuellar’s home.
Furthermore, in a tweet posted by Reporter Valerie Gonzalez , Two men wearing FBI shirts were seen approaching the house and claimed that the agents also went to Cuellar’s campaign office on Wednesday afternoon.
Cuellar is one of the most conservative and popular Democrats in the House of Representatives. He represents Texas district that hugs the banks of the Rio Grande River, just opposite Mexico.
