FBI Accused of Concealing Records to Protect Biden

FBI Director Christopher Wray has come under scrutiny as the agency allegedly possesses a file linking President Joe Biden to a $5 million bribery scheme, according to House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer. The file supposedly outlines a deal between Biden and an unidentified foreign national, where money would be exchanged for Biden’s influence and support on policy matters.

However, despite a subpoena, Wray refused to release the file during a congressional hearing on Tuesday. This has led Republicans to consider holding Wray in contempt of Congress, similar to the charges faced by former Trump advisors Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro for their refusal to cooperate with the Democrats’ investigation into the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

Chairman Comer expressed his disappointment with Wray’s refusal, stating, “The Committee has been clear in its intent to protect Congressional oversight authorities and will now be taking steps to hold the FBI Director in contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a lawful subpoena. Americans deserve the truth, and the Oversight Committee will continue to demand transparency from this nation’s chief law enforcement agency.”

🚨On my call with FBI Director Wray, the FBI finally confirmed the existence of the FD-1023 form alleging then-VP Joe Biden engaged in a criminal bribery scheme.

Anything short of producing these documents to @GOPoversight is not in compliance with my subpoena.

Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene echoed the sentiment and called for Wray’s impeachment. In a tweet, she described Wray’s non-compliance as an affront to the checks and balances of the government. Greene further emphasized that if Wray continues to withhold documents related to the investigation into the Biden family, he should be held in contempt of Congress.

Speaking to Fox News, Comer mentioned that a bill to hold Wray in contempt could be prepared as early as next week. The move reflects the Republicans’ determination to ensure transparency and accountability from the FBI, particularly regarding the alleged bribery scheme involving President Biden.

At the time of writing, the details of the alleged bribery scheme and the contents of the file remain undisclosed, as the FBI has not released the information. The ongoing investigation and the actions taken by Congress will shed more light on the matter in the coming weeks.
