Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) releases the blueprint for “Parental Rights in Education” bill that aims to protect children from being indoctrinated by the left, using inappropriate sexual contents.
“In Florida, we value student success, parental rights, and curriculum transparency, and we need school board members who do the same. We need strong school boards who will fight for these values and put students first. Our agenda WILL make that happen.” DeSantis said in a tweet.
DeSantis’ movement came out as the education system across the United States is being used by the left as their tool to spread their agenda to indoctrinate children in certain grade levels about sexual orientation or gender identity with the use of inappropriate sexual materials without the parents’ consents.
The bill titled “The DeSantis Education Agenda: Putting Students First, Protecting Parents’ Rights,” will revolve around issues relating to parental rights, student success and curriculum transparency.
The “student-first, parent-centered initiative focused on setting Florida’s children up for success, ensuring parental rights in education, and combating the woke agenda from infiltrating public schools.” The policy said.
According to the bill, it will “require district school boards to reinforce fundamental right of parents to make decisions regarding upbringing & control of their children.”
It will also legally “prohibits classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in certain grade levels; requires school districts to notify parents of healthcare services; authorizes parent to bring action against school district to obtain declaratory judgment; provides for additional award of injunctive relief, damages, & reasonable attorney fees & court costs to certain parents.”
Moreover, in a statement released by DeSantis addressing the Federalist, he claimed that “our school board members are on the front lines of what happens in our education system. In Florida, we value student success, parental rights, and curriculum transparency, and we need school board members who do the same,” and added that “we need strong school boards who will fight for these values and put students first.”
The governor also vowed to get “the Florida political apparatus involved” in local School Board races.
On Monday, DeSantis and Lieutenant Governor endorsed a swath of candidates from around the state as they made their move in a group of School Board races.
“We need strong local school board members who are committed to advancing our agenda to put students first and protect parents’ rights. I am proud to endorse 10 local school board candidates who will set our children up for success,” Governor DeSantis tweeted.
“Excited to announce the endorsement of these school board candidates across Florida. With a strong pro-student and pro-parent agenda, these future school board members will ensure our children are educated and not indoctrinated,” tweeted Lt. Gov. Jeanette Nuñez.
