Former Vice President Mike Pence is once again hinting that he might run for President in 2024 following his failure to side with former President Donald Trump during his second impeachment trial.

During an interview on Fox News, the former vice president teased a possible run, claiming that he has a chance of winning the 2024 GOP presidential slot.

“All my focus right now is on 2022,” Pence told Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo. “I think we have a historic opportunity to reclaim majorities in the House and Senate, to elect great Republican governors around America and, in 2023, I’m confident the Republican Party will nominate a candidate who will be the next president of the United States of America and at the right time, my family and I will reflect and consider how we might participate in that process.”

The speculation comes after he told a group of conservative students at the University of Virginia about his possible White House ambitions.

“I was just wondering if you’re planning to run in 2024 for president,” one student asked following the former president’s keynote address at a gathering of the Young America’s Foundation hosted by the university.

“I’ll keep you posted,” Pence responded.

Despite the confidence that he can unseat President Joe Biden in 2024, a recent poll conducted by the Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll showed that Trump, who is also speculated to throw his hat into the ring, would win a race against Biden or Harris.

The poll also found that 49 percent of Republican voters would vote for Trump with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis coming in second place with 38 percent.

“I would not give a lot of weight to trial heats right now other than they reflect the weakness of Biden and the administration right now,” said Mark Penn, the co-director of the Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey. “That Trump beats them both by a wide margin suggests most Republican nominees once known fully by the public would beat them unless they are able to pivot out of the current nadir in their numbers.”

With Trump holding the support of many GOP voters, Pence doesn’t have a chance, let alone against DeSantis, who is also another favorite for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination.
