Pedro Grajalez, a Connecticut resident, surrendered to Hartford Police and showed them pictures of his deceased girlfriend lying in his car that was parked outside. The 52-year-old man claimed that he killed Nilda Rivera because he caught her having an affair with another man.

In the report of Police Lt. Aaron Boisvert, on Sunday, around 3:20 in the afternoon, Grajalez entered the Hartford Police Department, displaying the graphic images to the police officers. Grajalez admitted to stabbing his partner, who was still inside the car parked in front of the police station.

When police went to the car, they discovered Rivera, 57, unconscious inside the vehicle with numerous wounds.

She was brought by the emergency personnel to Saint Francis Hospital. However, despite their best efforts, she was declared dead. The police investigation found out that Rivera had been stabbed more than 25 times while in the car at a Murphy Road parking lot, particularly in the chest, head, face, and arms.

Since July 2022, Grajalez and Rivera have been dating. After allegedly knowing that Rivera was having an affair, Grajalez allegedly started preparing Rivera’s killing. He took her to a McDonald’s, hid a knife in his jeans pocket, and then drove her to a hidden parking lot where he repeatedly stabbed her.

Before heading to the police station, Grajalez said that he had intentionally waited for Rivera to lose her life. Additionally, he messaged a picture of the woman in blood to the person he thought was her new lover.

Murder charges have been brought against Grajalez, and a $3 million bond has been imposed. Rivera’s daughters have openly voiced their sorrow and confessed their suspicions about Grajalez ever since he started dating their mother, who used to be a nursing assistant. They claimed he was an envious and spiteful man who would always keep an eye on Rivera’s social media and phone activity.

After meeting through social media, the couple’s relationship was inconsistent. The loss of their mother devastated Rivera’s daughters, who deeply expressed their rage and desire for Grajalez to be held accountable for the crime he committed.
