Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said that he is concerned about a possible assassination plot.
During an interview with Joe Rogan this week, Kennedy expressed his concern about the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) assassinating him, just like he claims they killed his uncle, former President John F. Kennedy.
“He said, ‘I wanna take the CIA and shatter it into a thousand pieces and scatter it to the winds,’” he said of his uncle. “And for the next thousand days of his presidency, he was at war with his military and intelligence apparatus.”
Rogan then asked Kennedy, “But what do you think happens when you get into office? You’re talking about your uncle who was assassinated and you believe the intelligence agencies were a part of that. What happens to you?”
“Well, I gotta be careful,” the presidential hopeful responded. “You know, I’m aware of that and you know, I’m aware of that danger and I don’t live in fear of it at all. But I’m not stupid about it and I take precautions.”
Kennedy is an up-and-coming Democratic candidate who could potentially go against President Joe Biden. Last week, lines of people were spotted waiting to watch him speak in Biden’s home state of New Hampshire.
Speaking at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, he discussed peace and diplomacy during the time of the Russia-Ukraine war.
“I abhor Russia’s brutal and bloody invasion of that nation. But we must understand that our government has also contributed to its circumstances with repeated, deliberate provocations of Russia going back to the 1990s,” Kennedy said, adding that “America has broken off practically all diplomatic contact with Russia, so the communication has indeed become a little more than an exchange of threats and insults.”
Following his speech, local media asked attendees what they thought of Kennedy and whether he could beat Biden in the 2024 Democratic Party presidential primaries.
“He speaks a lot of truth, and he’s a very personable human being,” said Mike Sweeney from Albany, adding that Kennedy can topple Biden “one hundred percent. We wouldn’t be here otherwise. People have eyes, and things are so far off the rails that I think just being real is going to be the thing that gets through.”
