California Governor Gavin Newsom sparked outrage and criticisms among Christians on social media after using a scripture to promote his anti-abortion agenda.
Just recently, Newsom launched a new, billboard-centric ad campaign across 7 conservative and most restrictive anti-abortion states.
He then posted about his new movement on Twitter saying, “NEW: Just launched billboards in 7 of the most restrictive anti-abortion states that explain how women can access care–no matter where they live.
To any woman seeking an abortion in these anti-freedom states: CA will defend your right to make decisions about your own health.”
He then went to share photos of the billboards, and even mentioned the governor of the states.

“@tatereeves the people of Mississippi deserve to know they have access to the care you are refusing to provide. This will be launching in your state today,” Newsom added.
Following Newsom’s anti-abortion recent movement, conservative Americans blasted the governor and his pro-abortion billboards, calling them “Satanic” and “abominable” for using scripture to push abortion on the billboard.
“‘Good Catholic” @GavinNewsom is now using Bible scriptures to encourage women to come to California to abort their babies. A truly shameful display. Meanwhile, in CA crime continues to skyrocket, the cost of living is out of control, and the state can’t even keep the lights on,” twitter user said.
“ABOMINABLE for a US Governor to quote Holy Scripture to promote MURDER of the most vulnerable in what should be their SAFEST SPACE ~ Mother’s Womb!! Gov Newsom, you are at war w GOD ~ read Proverbs 6:16-17,” another user added.
Critics also blasted the governor calling his movement “satanic.”
“@GavinNewsom is an enemy of God. Repent and believe in the Gospel,” said the user.
“Unbelievable! Isn’t killing your closest neighbor the exact opposite of the verse he cites from Jesus about loving your neighbor as yourself?”
“My dear CA friends, I would start building an ark. Abortion is wrong but misusing His Word is worse. And if u really loved ur neighbor, u wouldn’t be helping them kill their child.”
“I’m really kind of speechless on this. Don’t know that I’ve seen the word of God so twisted and perverted to support a position, especially abortion. Sadly, people are applauding and celebrating this. Mr. Newsom needs some serious help and guidance.”
Meanwhile, amid the controversy, US President Joe Biden did nothing but support the agenda.
Recently, he pledged on social media to codify Roe v. Wade if Democrats win the midterms and take over the Senate.
“If you give me two more Democratic senators, and Democrats keep the House, I promise you we will codify Roe v. Wade. We will once again make Roe the law of the land. We will once again protect a woman’s right to choose,” Biden said.
