Social media platform LinkedIn was busted for censoring Republicans ahead of the 2024 election, according to a shocking report.

According to Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, his LinkedIn account was locked after he posted fact-based content about President Joe Biden’s relationship with China.

“Big Tech election interference has begun: @LinkedIn locked my account & censored me this week for posting videos where I expressed fact-based views as a presidential candidate about climate policy and Biden’s relationships with China,” Ramaswamy tweeted last week. “They said it violated their policies relating to ‘misinformation, hate speech, and violence.’ Sad but not surprising.”

Attached to his tweet is a copy of the LinkedIn case that was sent to Ramaswamy, which accused him of sharing misleading information without providing any evidence of doing so.

“Your account was restricted for repeatedly sharing content that contains misleading or inaccurate information, in violation of LinkedIn’s User Agreement and Professional Community Policies,” the company said.

The Republican candidate’s censored comments show a progression from remarks about the COVID-19 pandemic and electoral “misinformation” to overt election intervention based on a presidential candidate’s political reasons.

This comes as big tech companies’ censorship of conservative Americans has become more common. Republican lawmakers, thankfully, have introduced legislation that would force the Biden administration to disclose its requests for companies like LinkedIn to censor content.

The bill would require the government to “disclose the extent to which it attempts to urge Big Tech to engage in censorship that would violate the First Amendment,” according to the Daily Caller, adding that it would also “require Executive and Legislative Branch officers and employees to publicly disclose, within seven days, any communications with technology platforms regarding action or potential action to restrict certain speech.”

“The collusion between the Biden administration and Big Tech that has come to light over the last two years is not only disturbing but inconsistent with the government’s constitutional role in American life,” Tennessee Sen. Bill Hagerty said in introducing the legislation.

“The purpose of the First Amendment is to prevent government from suppressing speech with which it disagrees. If the federal government is attempting to end-run the Constitution by secretly working with tech platforms to censor Americans’ speech, the American people deserve to know. Requiring transparency will ensure that the government cannot work secretly to censor Americans,” Hagerty added.
