President Joe Biden launched his first official rally for his 2024 presidential campaign, highlighting what Democrats perceive as accomplishments and what Republicans criticize as failures.

The rally marked a significant moment for the Biden campaign, which had experienced a slower start compared to its Republican counterparts, such as Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla) and former President Trump, who had been actively rallying support since the beginning.

While some argue that Biden’s limited public appearances have been a strategic move by the Democrats, others suggest that the president needs to increase his pace and assertiveness. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) acknowledged that Americans might not be interested in excessive campaign noise, emphasizing the importance of quality engagements.

During his first campaign event, Biden faced criticism for making statements that were later fact-checked and deemed inaccurate. One claim he made was regarding taxes, where he promised that individuals earning less than $400,000 would not experience any increase.

Biden says he “made a promise … that no one making under $400,000 will see a penny of their federal taxes go up and they haven’t.”

However, data shows that under Biden’s administration, taxes were raised for hard-working Americans earning as little as $20,000 per year.

“Biden says he “made a promise … that no one making under $400,000 will see a penny of their federal taxes go up and they haven’t.” He broke that promise long ago — raising the tax burden on Americans making as little as $20,000/year,” RNC reported.

“Additionally, Biden claimed that his administration had reduced the deficit by $1.7 trillion, asserting it was the largest deficit reduction in history. Fact-checking revealed that Biden’s policies had actually increased the deficit by $3.84 trillion, contradicting his statement,” RNC added in its report.

Furthermore, the President was also accused of lying when he claimed that he “cut the deficit by more than any president has in American history, $1.7 trillion,” to which the RNC Research debunked, arguing that Biden is a “a chronic liar. Nonpartisan analysis show Biden’s policies have *increased* the deficit” by by $3.84 trillion.

These instances of alleged misinformation have led to concerns about the president’s credibility. Critics argue that Biden’s tendency to either lie or dismiss serious questions, as seen with his response to corruption allegations, undermines trust in his leadership.
