Tyson, with 137,000 employees worldwide,  revealed its plan to relocate staffers from Chicago and Dakota Dunes, South Dakota.

This comes as Democratic politics continue to fail many of America’s great cities and one of them is Chicago.

In a statement released by Tyson’s CEO Donnie King he declared that, “Bringing our talented corporate team members and businesses together under one roof unlocks greater opportunities to share perspectives and ideas, while also enabling us to act quickly to solve problems and provide the innovative products solutions that our customers deserve and value,”

“We believe it’s in the best strategic interest of the company to make this move, which supports Caterpillar’s strategy for profitable growth as we help our customers build a better, more sustainable world,” Caterpillar CEO Jim Umpleby said.

Not only Tyson, Ken Griffin, who is worth $31 billion also relocated his multi-billionaire hedge fund company called Citadel from Chicago, Illinois, to Miami, Florida.

Griffin explained that he had been personally affected by Chicago’s descent into “anarchy.” According to the billionaire, one of his close colleagues was robbed with a gun to his head while he was getting a cup of coffee.

“Another colleague was outside waiting for a car when he was approached by some random lunatic just trying to punch him in the head,” Griffin added.

Moreover, in the letter addressing the employees, Griffin declared that, “Chicago will continue to be important to the future of Citadel, as many of our colleagues have deep ties to Illinois.”

“Over the past year, however, many of our Chicago teams have asked to relocate to Miami, New York and our other offices around the world,” he continued.

Reports revealed that Griffin claimed that crime rates in Chicago have played a role in his decision.

“If people aren’t safe here, they’re not going to live here. ’ve had multiple colleagues mugged at gunpoint. I’ve had a colleague stabbed on the way to work. Countless issues of burglary,” he said.

“I mean, that’s a really difficult backdrop with which to draw talent to your city from,” he added.

According to a study conducted by the Tax Foundation in 2021, the city of Chicago has reportedly boasted the second-highest tax burden among large metropolitan areas in the United States.

The residents are reportedly paying a combined state and local tax rate of 10.25%.
