Adam Neumann, one of the people who helped start WeWork, has bid more than $500 million to take back control of the company.

He started WeWork, a business that rented out shared office space, almost fifteen years ago. The real estate business that Newmann runs, Flow, said that they put in an offer for WeWork. They said they had bid on the business with a group of financial partners who would add to the amount they bid.

WeWork said, “WeWork is an amazing company, so it’s not a surprise that we get interest from outside parties all the time.” “Those approaches are regularly looked at by our board and advisors to make sure we always do what is best for the company in the long term,” they said.

WeWork also said that they worked on restructuring efforts after they filed for bankruptcy. People who worked from home changed because of the pandemic, which decreased the need for office space and also raised interest rates. That’s why they reportedly filed for bankruptcy.

Neumann had been seen trying to get close to the company in recent months in order to work out a deal where he would either buy it fully or lend the company money. In a message to WeWork, his lawyers said that he was thinking about making a joint bid on the business.

The company filled for bankruptcy and didn’t do anything, but it put its money into long-term leases at a time when real estate was expensive. However, this didn’t help investors because a lot of them were still not sure how much the company was worth and didn’t like the terms of the stock listing.

Neumann and his company went out of business after many stories came out about his strange lifestyle and stressful work demands. In the end, this is what made him step down, but he then started his own real estate company called Flow which focuses on apartments. His company has been dormant for two years, even though he said it would be up and running soon. Their website still says “coming soon.”
