A Swedish company called Klarna which works with financial technology said that 90% of their 5,000 workers use generative AI every day.
Klarna is a program that lets you pay for things over time and not pay interest on each payment. ChatGPT and their own AI assistant are the kinds of tools that their workers use. More than half of the people who use generative artificial intelligence are not technical and work in fields like marketing or messaging.
An investigation found that more than 60% of people who work from home use generative AI in their daily work, sometimes without their boss knowing. That being said, Klarna’s position makes it possible for more people to use generative AI.
Kiki is Klarna’s bot that helps with customer service. It answers about 2,000 questions every day. Klarna said that they use creative AI to figure out whether news stories about them are good or bad. They have also used ChatGPT Enterprise to make rough drafts of things like contracts.
Salma Bogren, Klarna’s senior managing legal counsel, said, “You still need to change it to fit your needs, but you can write a contract in ten minutes instead of an hour.”
For years, Klarna has been trying to find ways to use AI in its work. Ten percent of their staff was let go, and then they started using AI. The business says that getting rid of workers and using AI has paid off because it has made the company more money.
Klarna said that their robot saves them over $40 million a year because it does the work of 700 full-time customer service jobs.
