Next week, temperatures will be rising across the United States. It will have a bigger effect than we thought, as many places will set new records for high temperatures.
For many states, next week will be the hottest on record. In Texas, for example, the weather will be about the same as it is in May. The warmest days of the week are expected to be Monday and Tuesday. On Monday, temperatures will be above average for 250 million Americans.
FOX Weather meteorologist Jane Minar said, “Today, this warmth is really starting to build across the middle tier of the country, and it will continue to move eastward until about Tuesday.”
There will likely be dozens of daily record highs from Texas to North Dakota and Minnesota on Monday. Sunday had some of the hottest temperatures in Texas, and they’re going to stay that way until Tuesday.
It will be 86 degrees in Dallas on Sunday, and it will be 93 degrees on Monday. The National Weather Service in Fort Worth says that because of the high temperatures and low humidity, they expect more grass fires.
Minar told people not to get too used to the heat: “This warmth is building up quickly, and we’re expecting records through Tuesday and Wednesday. However, once the storm comes through, we are reminded that, yes, it is still winter, and we still need coats.”
It’s going to be record-low in the North during the second half of the week when a cold front comes through. At the start of the week, temperatures may rise 20 to 30 degrees. In the second half of the week, temperatures may drop 10 to 20 degrees below normal. This will split the country in the end, with the South being too warm and the North being much cooler than usual.
