A lot of people would say that President Biden’s video that he released on Super Bowl Sunday was “bizarre” or “unexpected and weird.”
There was no usual pre-game interview with President Joe Biden, but he was seen in a video posted on the White House’s X account talking about snack prices and inflation. It was mostly because he thought snack companies and big businesses were raising prices on snacks without making them better.
The video was posted with the caption, “Did you notice that some items were smaller than usual while the prices stayed the same? That was Super Bowl shopping.” People are getting less for every dollar they spend. This is known as “Shrinkflation.” I want the big consumer names to stop it.
In the video, you can see Biden sitting in a red chair next to a small table with well-known snack brands. “It’s Super Bowl Sunday, and if you’re like me, you like to have a snack or two while you watch the big game,” he was heard saying. If you bought food for the game, you may have noticed that the sports drink bottles are smaller and the bags of chips have fewer chips in them, but they still cost the same.
“What makes me the most angry as an ice cream lover is that ice cream cartons have shrunk in size but not in price,” the video went on. I’m sick of what they call “shrinkflation.” It’s not worth it. Some companies are trying to trick you by slowly making their goods smaller in the hopes that you won’t notice. Take a break. People in the US are sick of being lied to and tricked. Businesses need to stop doing this. Now, let’s make sure companies do the right thing.
A lot of people didn’t like the video and thought it was a joke. A lot of them also said they didn’t believe what he was saying.
Another problem that people brought up was that this was focused on a problem that was small compared to other problems the country is having right now.
Because of this, Joe Biden may not be seen on camera or in the news as much because he has memory loss and can’t remember or give lines to a camera fully.
