Former President Donald Trump blasted the “unconstitutional” lawsuit against him involving former Elle columnist E. Jean Carroll, following sexual assault allegations made against New York Mayor Eric Adams and former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

This comes after Carroll accused Trump of rape and defamation. The New York City jury has since awarded her $5 million in damages in May, ruling that Trump had sexually assaulted her and was civilly liable for defamation but rejecting her allegation of rape.

Late last month, the former president posted on Truth Social claiming that the defamation trial was “brought and funded by political operatives for purposes of Election Interference” and said suits against Adams and Cuomo were “totally unfair.”

“I hope that Mayor Eric Adam’s, Andrew Cuomo, and all of the others that got sued based on this ridiculous law where someone can be sued decades later, and with no proof, will fight it on being totally unfair and UNCONSTITUTIONAL. I got sued, decades later (she has no idea when her made up event took place!), by a woman – I HAD NO IDEA WHO SHE WAS. It was a made up fairytale that was brought and funded by political operatives for purposes of Election Interference,” Trump wrote.

Adams was recently accused by a woman of sexually abusing her in 1993. He has denied the allegations. In a different lawsuit, Cuomo was charged with sexually abusing Brittany Commisso, a former staffer. 11 women in all have accused him of mistreating them or engaging in sexual harassment when he was in office. The former governor has denied each and every accusation.

Carroll, meanwhile, is being accused of making up her claims to drive publicity for her new book, despite appearing in several TV shows and podcasts.

The journalist claimed that she conceals her inner pain in her capacity as an advice columnist and that attending events connected to her legal battles with Trump and publicly declaring herself to be “fabulous” didn’t mean she was lying about him.

“In this courtroom, I’m being forced to tell the truth,” she said while acknowledging that they were a major factor in book sales.
