Kari Lake Has a Message For Ron DeSantis and He’s Not Going To Like It

Former Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake criticized presidential candidate Ron DeSantis for using AI material in an attack ad against former President Donald Trump.

This comes after a super PAC in support of DeSantis used an AI version of Trump in an ad focused on the former president’s recent attacks on Republican Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds.

The ad shows Trump saying he no longer invites Reynolds to gatherings and features an audio clip of his statements that appears to be taken from a phone call recording. However, it is very obvious that the audio clip was produced by AI due to its strange rhythm and robotic sentences.

Lake then posted on Twitter blasting DeSantis for going down to “such a low level” to take hits at Trump.

“SAD: DeSantis PAC used Artificial Intelligence to mimic Trump’s voice in a campaign ad,” she tweeted. “We expect The Propagandists in the Media to LIE & DECEIVE Voters. It’s heartbreaking to see that Team DeSantis is stooping to such a low level.”

Trump’s camp also condemned the ad and called it a “desperate attempt” to attack the former president.

“The blatant use of AI to fabricate President Trump’s voice is a desperate attempt by Always Back Down and Jeff Roe to deceive the American public because they know DeSanctimonious’ campaign is on life support,” said Trump campaign senior adviser Chris LaCivita. “After losing big donors and slashing their staff, they have now outsourced their work to AI just like they would like to outsource American jobs to China.”

This comes after DeSantis, who is trailing Trump in the polls, dismissed the poor polling and reiterated that he is still the best candidate to beat President Joe Biden.

“Of any Republican in the country, I have the best record of defeating the left. On issue after issue, and we’ll be making that case over the next six or seven months. I’m running to win in January and February. I’m not running to juice polling now,” the Florida governor said in an interview recently..

DeSantis continued by evoking former President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s adage when it comes to judging enemies, saying that the fact that he is facing the most backlash and criticism from the leftist camp suggests that he is their top concern rather than someone like Trump.
