Anderson Cooper Makes Ron DeSantis Look Foolish

CNN broadcaster Anderson Cooper blasted Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis for his poor explanation of his mediocre poll numbers.

This comes after DeSanties went on Fox News recently to dismiss how he is polling poorly against former President Donald Trump.

“Of any Republican in the country, I have the best record of defeating the left. On issue after issue, and we’ll be making that case over the next six or seven months. I’m running to win in January and February. I’m not running to juice polling now,” the Florida governor said.

On Monday’s “AC360,” Cooper reacted to two recent Fox News hits by DeSantis, where the presidential hopeful said the media is to blame.

“It’s the media’s fault,” the leftist journalist said. “To be clear, the governor almost exclusively appears on friendly conservative outlets. And even there, as you can see, he doesn’t seem happy with the questions.”

“As for his claim it’s the media who don’t want him to defeat Donald Trump, poll shows that it’s actually a plurality of Republican voters who don’t,” he continued.

However, Cooper understated the number, as polls actually show that a sizable majority of Republican voters would prefer someone other than DeSantis. According to the liberal news network’s recent polling, DeSantis is 21 points behind Trump.

Elsewhere in his Fox News interview, DeSantis blasted President Joe Biden’s “Bidenomics” initiative and said that he can beat the other candidates and ultimately beat Biden in the 2024 presidential election.

“Bidenomics in a nutshell, is: ‘You pay more for the necessities of life. Your standard of living goes down, the government gets bigger and more powerful. And ultimately China will benefit from a lot of stuff,” DeSantis said.

DeSantis continued by evoking former President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s adage when it comes to judging enemies, saying that the fact that he is facing the most backlash and criticism from the leftist camp suggests that he is their top concern rather than someone like Trump.

“I think if you look at the people like the corporate media, who are they going after? Who do they not want to be the nominee? They’re going after me,” he said.
